2026 TIME100 AI: Meet the IIT Delhi graduate who helped build Aadhaar and is now on TIME’s list of 100 most influential people in AI

IIT Delhi graduate and Sarvam AI co-founder Vivek Raghavan has been named to TIME’s TIME100 AI 2026 list for his role in shaping India’s artificial intelligence ecosystem. Raghavan previously served as Chief Project Manager and Biometric Architect for Aadhaar, helping build technology that scaled to more than a billion identities. After working with AI4Bharat, he co-founded Sarvam AI to develop multilingual AI systems tailored to India, focusing on technological independence and the country’s linguistic diversity.
