Fifty-five students from 11 government middle schools in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district participated in Project Uyarvu, sending a 2 kg scientific payload to 35 km above Earth using a helium-filled high-altitude balloon. Equipped with atmospheric sensors and a particle trap, the instrument collected environmental data during its nearly three-hour flight. Around 330 more students will analyse the findings, prepare research reports and explore local environmental issues, gaining hands-on experience in atmospheric science.
