Ajit Pawar passes away: Mumbai schools shut as Maharashtra declares 3-day mourning

Maharashtra declared a three-day state mourning after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a chartered aircraft crash near Baramati. Schools and educational institutions across the state were ordered shut from January 28 to 30, with government offices closed and flags at half-mast. The Learjet 45, operated by VSR Aviation, crashed during landing, killing Pawar and four others. The DGCA has begun an investigation. Condolences were conveyed by the President and the Prime Minister officially.
