Research published in Early Years highlights that number-based board games can significantly improve early math skills in children aged three to nine. Drawing on over two decades of studies, researchers found that structured gameplay strengthens counting, number sense, and basic arithmetic. Despite strong evidence, board games remain underused as formal learning tools in classrooms.
