CBSE makes vocational education compulsory for Class 9 students, revises Class 10 board exam rules for 2027-28

The CBSE has revised the Class 9 Scheme of Studies for the 2026-27 academic session, introducing compulsory vocational education and changes to subject assessment. The new guidelines specify five compulsory Class 10 board examination subjects, a 33% passing requirement, optional skill subjects and subject-replacement provisions for students appearing for the 2027-28 board examinations.
