Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan: 40,000 appointments made in education sector in past 5 years

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced in the Rajya Sabha that the Central government has filled over 40,000 vacancies in the education sector in the past 4-5 years. He highlighted the introduction of the Professors of Practice (PoP) system, bringing industry professionals into academia to enhance employability and entrepreneurship. PoP appointments are need-based, not permanent, and won't affect existing university posts.
