ESIC set to establish 10 new medical schools across India

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is set to establish ten new medical schools across India, aiming to enhance healthcare access for its members, particularly in underserved areas. This initiative, approved in principle, will complement existing ESIC medical schools and seeks to integrate services with the Ayushman Bharat scheme, enabling cashless treatment at PMJAY-empanelled hospitals nationwide. The move also involves reforms to ensure transparency and accountability within ESIC institutions.
