From STEM to STEAM: How Indian-American sisters are reimagining learning in the Sundarbans school

At Swapnopuron Shiksha Niketan in the Sundarbans, a partnership between US-based nonprofit With Our Hearts (WOH) and Katakhali Swapnopuron Welfare Society is transforming rural education through technology and experiential learning. Founded by Indian-American sisters Nisha Tara Saraiya and Nimisha Saraiya, WOH has helped establish classrooms, digital infrastructure, and computer access. The initiative is now advancing from STEM to STEAM education with science and innovation labs, robotics, coding, and hands-on learning to prepare students for future opportunities.
