Google to pay $36 million after striking deals that shut out rival search engines in Australia

Google will pay AU $50 million after a court found its agreement with Telstra and Optus restricted competition by pre-installing its search engine on Android phones while excluding rivals. The ACCC has initiated proceedings against Google's Asia Pacific division for these anti-competitive practices.
