Karnataka gets 1,122 additional govt medical seats: Minister Sharan Prakash Patil

Karnataka has received approval for 1,122 additional medical seats following a decision by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on May 15. Minister Sharan Prakash Patil announced that the expansion includes undergraduate and postgraduate seats supported by Rs 495 crore and Rs 541 crore grants, respectively, totaling Rs 1,090 crore. The move aims to strengthen medical education and benefit multiple districts across the state, marking a record allocation for healthcare capacity enhancement efforts.
