Union Health Minister JP Nadda announced in Lok Sabha that the number of medical colleges in India has increased from 387 in 2014 to 731, with significant rises in undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats. He highlighted the expansion of AIIMS, the increase in the health budget, and the impact of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, which has provided free treatment to over 55 crore people and reduced out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.
