Mizoram to recruit 100 regular primary teachers in 2026; MTET changes under consideration

Mizoram plans to recruit 100 regular primary teachers in 2026 to strengthen elementary education and improve student learning outcomes. Education Minister Vanlalthlana also outlined proposed changes to the Mizoram Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) to help in-service teachers qualify. Meanwhile, the Mizoram Primary Teachers' Association has urged the government to introduce Hindi and provide computers in all primary schools.
