Ohio jail inmates’ portraits help 18 shelter dogs find forever homes

Inmates at the Franklin County Corrections Center have been drawing portraits of shelter dogs. Their artwork has resulted in higher adoption rates, helping many dogs find homes. This initiative allows inmates to contribute positively to the community while creating a connection with potential adopters. The portraits humanize the dogs, making them more relatable to visitors. Such simple actions have led to transformative impacts for both dogs and incarcerated individuals.
