Tamil Nadu declares holiday on November 9 for schools, colleges and government offices

Tamil Nadu holiday November 9: The Tamil Nadu government has declared November 9 a holiday for government offices, public sector undertakings, schools, colleges and educational institutions across the state. The decision follows requests from students, parents, teachers and government employees travelling home for Deepavali on November 8. November 28 will be a working day to compensate for the additional holiday. As the closure does not fall under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, district collectors must ensure treasuries and sub-treasuries remain operational with essential staff.
