Western Australia created two reefs with 60 concrete boxes; fish species rose from 12 to more than 60

Launched in 2013, purpose-designed artificial reefs were deployed along Western Australia's coast, leading to a remarkable transformation of the seafloor. In a span of three years, fish species surged from a mere dozen to an impressive sixty. These artificial structures not only enrich marine biodiversity but also provide excellent recreational fishing sites, exemplifying the project's effectiveness in promoting both marine life and community involvement.
